I've had enough of the pile of poo not starting for work...and last night dying completely about 30 seconds away from home..
Basically, i can charge up the battery and life will be sweet for a bit. But as soon as the sun sets and i switch the lights on, the radio cuts out and the dials/clocks slowly become dimmer and dimmer, then last night, die completely, or just not start in the morning.
I've cleaned the battery connections/terminals/earth. And replaced the connections to the alternator but im still not getting a reading on the voltmeter when is connected to the battery. I thought id be able to see a real increase in charging while engine's running, but it doesnt seem to move at all.
After looking at minifinity, im thinking along the routes of engine earth strap? Where the hell is it for starters?!

sounds like the alternator is not charging the battery!do you stil have a fan belt and is it tight? dont think it would be the engine earth if that was broken you would have other problems. i have a spare alternator if you want to try it

Agree with Andy - sounds like the alternator is kaput or the fan belt is loose.
