Hi there all,
I have a small problem and wonder if anyone may be able to help with either some advice or a spare part.
Little Bill has just failed his MOT for a number of small points however the carb appears to have started a fuel leak all by itself. Carb type is HIF44 Metro Variety and I wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to where I should start looking for the leak. Have never rebuilt one of these before.
Failing that does anyone have one that they would like to sell. Would like to get these jobs done over the weekend before the bank holiday. Summers coming and Bill needs a stretch.
In addition to this Just thought I would like to point out that the new MOT Regs do not permit any part of the front brake hoses braided or otherwise from touching any bodywork, tie-bars etc. Be careful for your mot if you have a Metro Vented 4 Pot Conversion. Coloured Angel Eyes and/or side light bulbs are also illegal apparently as is a horn which exceeds 120db and an empty windscreen washer reservoir.
On a Plus Point don't worry about fixing that dodgy rear radius arm as even if it is seized solid, under the new mot regs it will pass under an advisory note. Apparently you are not required by law to have suspension that moves.
Thanks
Mike (Little Bill)
Just thought that I would like to add that all the above problems appear to be sorted. I would still however like to hear from anyone that may have an HIF44 carb available as mine is a bit tired and I am not ready to fit my IDA at the moment.

Further to the above would just like to inform everyone that Bill has now received a further years ticket even though it did mean that all the rolling road work had to be undone and starve him of all those precious fuel juices in order to pass the emissions testing. Why are MOT rules so stupid. I am not a particuarly green person and I am sure my 1500 miles per year will not ill too many badgers or trees. Look forward to seeing you all on the Minehead run on sunday (provudung its not P**sing down as we have a small electrical fault. Alarm goes off when wet.
