Due to the childish antics (only to expected really I suppose) of a few, anyone wishing to post on the forum will need to register a username from now on, and get their username authorised by Admin. Sorry for the inconvenience folks, but as usual it is the petty few who spoil it for the majority...
Obviously all MU members will get the password to the Members Area when applying - those who don't know should either email me or send a PM quoting membership number.

Surely we should allow for people to have a say outside - how else aside form the internet do people get to know about the club??? We should really discuss this on Monday PRIOR to making changes....not afterwards!

i think that is a good point oli.
surely it would be better to allow people to be able to view the forum but not be able to post on it untill they have been authorised
this would allow perspective members to view the forum but would stop the pointless childish posts that some people leave.

People are allowed to an opinion as long as it is the same as yours? I agree with Oli, this way no-one outside the club will ever inform us or invite them to their events -or is that what you want?

Give me a break guys !! I'm still playing with the settings - I agree we need everyone to be able to view what is being said, but at the same time we need to have a control on posting. Some of the stuff I have had to delete recently has been nothing to do with MU, Minis or good taste...

Okay, I've had another tweak of the settings and I think that has sorted it ! Everyone should now be able to view without logging in, but only registered members may post - I hope...

Registration is pretty much the norm for most forums isn't it?
Alex - if there's been some hassle with external weird postings, is it worth considering asking for some help to monitor things here?
