We have had a club invite to come to a Barbeque at 7pm on Friday 9th June by our friends Mudford Minis. ;D
They meet regularly at a pub called the Marston Inn, which is at Marston Magna, on the A359 between Yeovil & Sparkford. The pub is hosting the barbeque, so you'll be able to buy food & drinkies there (don't take your own stuff). So far Minis Of Bridgwater & Yeovil Mini Mania have also been invited, plus any other local clubs that Chairman John can contact.
Should be a good little run over there (IMM & Bristol show the week before, haven't got anything down on our MU calender this weekend yet).
For anyone interested - Suggest meeting at the Blackbrook Tavern at 6pm for a convoy, driving towards Ilminster (to meet up with any MU members at a meeting point there such as the Shell garage by the A303/A358 roundabout at 6.30pm).

I have had a text message from John today regarding this event, asking for rough idea of numbers so that Mudford Minis can cater appropriately.
Please can you either email, phone, text or post a message here to say yes/no if you want to pop along. It will help my phone bill rather than having to phone or text lots of people!
Many thanks, Suzy

Sorry guys as much as I would like to come alas it is not possible as previous commitments prevent my attendance. Bit disappointed really as I thought this one was on a Sunday.

I hope to come over later too as I am busy until 7ish. Perhaps we could have a 2nd meeting time or delay the first group?

We ended up with quite a crowd! In fact we outnumbered the host club Terry & Sara in the Shorty, Paul & Kevin in the Flame, Mr Ben in Wyde Boy, Emma and Andy in the Moke (look at the photo below), Vicks in Charlie, Dave & Wendy, Mike Amy & Graham taking Mike's Dad's Coop500 for a run, Ian & Co with Eel's new owner Justin (just purchased from Alex, Oli's bro), plus Tigger & Tubbs. What lovely weather, nice pub, and very good burgers (which most people had 2nds, 3rds or even 4ths!). Plus the biggest grill/barbeque equipment I've seen in a while. Thanks to Mudford Minis for organising. Nice idea. Andy's Moke, freshly back from Poland, and hard worked by the look of all that brake dust and European flies splattered all over it!

it turned out to be a good night, though we did not realise quite how far it was, or how cold we would be driving home in the shorty ! !

Yay the EEL!, hows it looking now? or still a large rusty bucket, Good to see him out and about, Yeovil, wow good effort on his part. No doubt we shall see some progress with the EEL over the next couple of months.

EEL didn't look as bad out in the sunshine as he did in a dingy garage. I'm sure Justin and co will wield the sandpaper, filler & paint over the next few months and get him looking very splendid indeed.
