I don't as it shags the synchros in double quick time, but I'm willing to try it before I change my current gearbox for a remote one.

It is perfectly possible to "beat the syncro" with a normal gearlever - we've all done it, you just move the lever too fast and get a crunchy or refused change.
The Quickshift just changes the pivot point at the bottom of the lever, meaning it moves faster and virtually guaranteeing a botched or harsh change. In reality, you need to move the lever slower with a quickshift but not as far.

well i've had mine on there for a while before the car went of the road the first time and again this time the only time the gears crunched was when i didn't put the clutch in properly its ten times better than the quarter mile move from 1 - 2 don't know how i put up with the standard for so long
(and before anybody mentions the fact the car is of the road again the gearbox still works fine)

I've used the older ones in several cars and they really improve the feel. They do haved the potential to damage synchros but that depends how you use them. They shouldn't be called a 'quickshift', they should be called a 'shortshift'!! Don't get KAD copy ones though, I've seen and heard of plenty of fake ones that loose the circlip on the end as they rattle loose and then you end up with no gears. (KAD changed to a blue anodised base on current ones to distinguish.)
