hello, I wonder if some knowledgeable person could help me with the following - my offside front wheel is making a hell of a squealing noise between 20 and 60 mph! I've taken the wheel off, greased knuckles, but i'm not sure where its coming from. bearing maybe?
My friends mini has a problem with the brake lights, they are on continuously. What could be the cause of this? I suggested it could be the brake pedal sticking but giving it a kick hasnt seemed to work. She also has an oil leak, about one drop a day. Is there a good way of sorting this out?
Many thanks! Havent been on here a while, its good to be back. Is it still Monday 8:30 the meets? I've got through a few minis since I last attended!!
Dave

Hiya Dave! Lovely to hear you've still got a Mini, even if its noisey and drippy. But hey that's what Minis do best, LOL
MU club and local meets were sadly closed last month (see the related topics below this one). But the forum is alive and well as you see, and the old faces are still about! Alex & I moved to Woolavington a couple of years ago, you're welcome to drop in anytime, email me info@minisunlimited.co.uk or phone 01278 683380.

Certainly sounds like a bearing or CV joint (though they normally click on full lock) that is squealing, either way you need to jack it up and check. Probably a hub off job for a good inspection, and hope the bearing hasn't spun...
The brake lights are operated by a white plastic switch mounted on the pedal box under the dashboard. It's probably stuck on.
Depending on where the oil leak is, it can be a 10 minute fix or an engine out.
