The 11 stud block has been bored to 73.5 mm and fitted with Omega pistons. The camshaft is a Kent Megadyne 286, driven by a peg drive vernier sprocket. The crank and rods have been balanced. The oil system has been modified by putting an oil filter BEFORE the oil pump. An adaptor is fitted to the back of the gearbox where the center oil pick-up pipe fits, which diverts the oil to the remote oil filter housing. Oil is returned to the oil pump suction side through a drilling into the oil gallery. This modification results in no oil pump wear or scoring, and stops the pressure relif valve getting stuck which maintains great oil pressure. The Diff ratio is 3.2. The block is from a Cooper 1.3 injection. The external oil pipe has been replaced with 1/2"BSP fittings to eliminate the troublsome standard seals.
