Following the vote in our private area, and discussing with members who turned up ready for Terry & Sara's WSM run last night, the date for our proposed event was agreed, and the bar staff at the pub informed. We have managed to get an email off to Monty Watkins from MiniWorld to hopefully just get into the publishing deadline date, as per his conversation with Alex at the weekend at Southern Mini Days. Hopefully MU members can lend a hand on the evening to greet people and assist with parking arrangements as they arrive. In the meantime, please can members help by loading this 2006 poster (its an Acrobat pdf link) and print out some copies to distribute? www.minisunlimited.co.uk/public-documents/muminigrille06poster.pdfContact will be made ASAP with local Mini Clubs to invite them along. Yeovil Mini Mainia, Mudford Minis, Minehead, MOB, West of England... (any more ideas to add to the list please?) Might need some new T-shirts...

If folks can provide contact details (especially phone & email address) it would be really handy as it saves me time digging around for them. Cheers! Can anyone help with printing out some flyers? I'd suggest A5 size because you can get 2 to a page and save on ink & paper. We can obviously get some photocopied but we should take a tip from Treasurer Paul and try to keep costs to a minimum. If members would like to see some sort of revenue-generating exercise go on, such as a raffle or pin-the-tail-on-the-mini on the evening or similar, some ideas would be great! But bear in mind prizes cost money too, so that would need taking into consideration beforehand.

Thank you Oli. I printed out a few dozen A5 sized ones today (snuck them out the printer at the end of a Friday afternoon when most of the rest of the office had gone home ) which should cover the Mark Moor show this weekend, plus some to send to the local Mini clubs. We could do with plenty more to plaster any Mini we see in the area, plus maybe some at the pub. It would be really handy if all MU members could print & keep half a dozen in their car and then if they see a Mini parked up they can pop one on the windscreen. If we all share the task of printing it spreads the work out a bit - as long as folks have access to a printer of course! I've also printed a few A4 & A3 versions to laminate and ask if we can put them up at the Blackbrook.

Mini-Gizmos do plenty for local charities and will happily donate prizes for a raffle. It was a suggestion that maybe the club would also like to get involved in raising money for a worthwhile cause?

i think it is a great idea to do something for a local charity. not only is it a way of doing something worthwhile, it will be good publicity for the club. maybe you could tie in your ''coming soon'' event somehow ~ for example, everyone could pay to enter, then you could do the prize giving at the grille? or something similar. . . . . i dont think it is fair to just expect minigizmo's to raise money, it should be all of us, or none ;D ;D ;D

It was good opportunity to hand out flyers to the local clubs at MITP because we could chat to them at the same time about it. One small change to the minutes: The pub has agreed that rather than offering pay-once-and-then-eat-as-much-as-you-want (which we can see may be abused !!) they will stick with the normal format of price-per-burger. But have assured us the system will be better than last year so folks don't have to wait so long for a food order. We need MU Members to volunteer to help welcome Minis as they arrive and park up!Who's coming? ;D

So as the date is now fast approaching whats the final setup going to be? - Is the Stonleigh scaffolding going up? If so when are we setting it up and where? - Does everyone know their roles on the day? - Dress code? - Mini dress up theme? Just stuff like that realy..its become a little scary how quiet its been the last couple of days on here

yeah olly we are all dressing up as women. we've all got our costumes. honestly! i don't think we really need the scaffolding do we? seems like a lot of effort for not much gain. also it might be a bit windy for it? and seeing as we cant secure a gazebo maybe heavy scaffolding isn't a good idea with lots of people in a confined space?

For a whole multitude of reasons the scaffolding isn't going up.
No real assigned roles in advance, just all taking turns on the entrance and on parking duties.
Dress code ? you can wear a dress if you want...
Dress up Minis ?? Why ??
