Why do you want the back plates ? Never run with them on my cars as they just trap stones and wear grooves into the discs.

Best of luck finding them for a decent price !! Probably just as well to stick a 1275 in - talk to Suzy as she has one for grabs.
If you do want to stick a turbo on, a 998 with a 12G295 head would probably be easiest and cheapest as the c/r is very small with that combo.

12G295 is a Cooper head and in standard form is a straight bolt on job. I had one with ridiculous sized valves that required pocketing, and I wouldn't go down that route again. Chamber size is 28.3cc - the biggest of all A-series heads - and normally you would want to reduce the volume to keep a decent c/r. Witha turbo you want a relatively low c/r to prevent detonation and melting things so a standard size 295 would probably be about right.

940 head is a 1275 item and instantly requires pocketing.
A 12G295 head can be found on an 1100 engine, which is where I got mine from. Best bet is to keep an eye on eBay and at shows as they are becoming rarer.
