Now I only had Mikey for just under 3 months but it seems he may be sent to the scrappy unless I have my way and shout even more at the insurers! I was recently cut up at the junction at Tescos in Minehead which resulted in the Crunch taking place where the Boy racer (who was in persuit of his mate at the time) cut from the otherside of the main road across my path allowing myself and Mikey a mere 1 second to apply the brakes before the obvious impact. It has left a small list of damages including Front panel, DS wing, both headlights, Bonnet Front Valance Indicator Grill and moustaches and with the rusty panels that may also have to be replaced PS wing Both A Panels Scuttle panel The Estimated Cost of repair is £1600 but that is only an estimate, but the thin line ofcourse is tha cars value is only £1500, mmmm, so fingers crossed, but in any case I am getting my wages through still from loss of earnings and my shoulder is a lil fudged, and compensation to go with. Its a lil annoying as all who have had prangs will know, now your thoughts please on what could be done so i still get the car! etc

What a bummer !
Talk to either Hayman (not online as he doesn't do the interweb) or Matt about repairing this - it shouldn't come to too much really as long as you don't go to a "proper" crash repair garage.

I may take you up on that, it is being deemed as a write off, only cos Hollies were gonna charge £1600 for repairs! I'm getting him back at scrappage value plus moneys etc as well as loss of earnings and claims on my now dodgy shoulder.
Pick up will be on wednesday and so we shall see what goes on from there, As I am leaving the country soon (very soon) I may sell him just as a project with very low mileage I mean it has only done 53000 ish and its a lovely lil car! We shall see what happens on wednesday!

It's like that in the States also. Besides my Minis i have a Europa S1a 46-0507 that was heavily damaged by a storm. Didn't hurt the chassis, just the glass fibre parts. I have driven it in its current state around the neighborhood and it works fine mechanically. But the insurance agents made it a total write off with a certificate of destruction so that it can never be rebuilt. I guess it will become a donor or a auto-cross car. John
