Dear past & present Minis Unlimited members,
On 17th June 1991, the club held its very first meeting. It saddens me greatly to hereby give notice that on 17th June 2009, the 18th anniversary of that date, Minis Unlimited Club will cease to run. After many years of ups and downs it is time to move on to new challenges.
Details of the closure will be handed to those attending the meeting on Monday 15th June and emailed via the circulation list. The announcement will be posted on the club website and Facebook page. The mini magazines will also be informed today.
Thank you very much to all of you who have given the wonderful gift of support, friendship and laughter over the years, and thank you to those of you who have made this decision easier for me to make.
I wish you all the best of luck in your future Mini adventures.

Just to clarify the letter to those of you not yet read the email, or did not attend the meeting tonight. (P.S. you missed out on a nice fun run...)
Dear past & present Minis Unlimited members plus interested parties,
On 17th June 1991, the club held its very first meeting.
It saddens me greatly to hereby give notice that on 17th June 2009, the 18th anniversary of that date, Minis Unlimited Club will cease to run. After many years of ups and downs it is time to move on to new challenges.
• Membership was free this year, so there are no monies to be refunded. • Public Liability Insurance cover runs out 25th June 2009 and will not be renewed. • Remaining banked funds will be donated to a Mini related cause of my choice, possibly the Italian Job Run charity or a local charitable trust (yet to be decided but MU Treasurer Paul Huish will oversee distribution when agreed between us). • The club assets (posts, gazebo etc) are over three years old, broken and are either in need of maintenance or replacement so will be written off and disposed of appropriately. • Any display stands booked for 2009 shows will be cancelled, with the exception of IMM which when the admission passes arrive will be passed on to those who paid. • Club records holding members personal details will be destroyed. • There will be no further meetings of Minis Unlimited. Neither will the club attend events. • www.MinisUnlimited.co.uk website will remain viewable for a while to explain the situation, but the public forum will be closed. • Mini Magazine and MiniWorld publications will be informed and asked for the club contact details to be removed from their listings.
This notice will be handed to those attending the meeting on Monday 15th June, posted on the club website, Facebook page, and emailed via the circulation list.
Thank you very much to all of you who have given me the wonderful gift of support, friendship and laughter over the years, and thank you to those of you who have made this decision easier for me to make.
I wish you all the best of luck in your future Mini adventures. Suzy Kinsman Minis Unlimited Founder
So Jamie, Jeanette, Jack & Hayman will have their IMM tickets posted on to them when they arrive. And Jeanette there is a box of Mini50 stuff that needs dropping back to you.

Hi everyone, Thank you so much for the understanding comments here, last night at the meeting, on Facebook and by text - Martin, Mike, Caroline, Ant, Gez, Jeanette, PaulW,Claire, Roger, Kay, Ruth, Dave, Sara, Jim, Allen, Mikey, Cathy, AlexNP, of BenT, Wayne, Miles, Hayman, Kev, Dean, Jan, Tim to mention a few, plus of course support from Alex & PaulH.
Athough MU has had terrific fun over the years, like many clubs it has its ups and downs. Life is far too short to dwell on disagreements but when they crop up again and again over the years, combined with disheartening situations, its time to call it a day and move on to something more fun.
Yes you are right, it is 'my' baby, hence closing Minis Unlimited rather than stepping back. I did that for a year in 1999 and it all fell to pieces.
HOWEVER - it does not mean that Mini friends can't meet up for shows or local runabouts. There are also alternative groups in the area. I think the expectations of individual delivery are too high and too many people have got caught in the crossfire. We are a bunch of mates who need to have the freedom to do what they want, not what they ought to, and concentrate on what is important... i.e. HAVING A LAUGH!!! ;D
I don't have a problem with other groups which inevitably folks will be drawn to, but Minis Unlimited needs closure as a club, and you may need something new and fresh, and jolly best of luck if someone does. After all, I started this from scratch 18 years ago...
I hope you respect my bit of explaination (and speaking to some of you I know you understand), and also want to simply have fun with friends and your Minis.
I hope you are happy to remain my friends, Suzy xox

I Have noticed a certain Ross Montgomery is trying to start off where this has ended, I dunno about everyone else yes there have been ups and downs over the years, but I still wanna go to the shows and suchlike with friends like these! Just because the club has shut down doesnt mean we cant organise trips and suchlike business, so if everyone wants to join up on the facebook thingy or even keep in contact with eachother I'm sure we'll all see eachother just as much as before!
Well, this is a new one for me.... I usually steal the Groucho Marx ?? quote, "I don't think I would want to be a member of any club that would have me..." Didn't know I had the ability to single handedly bring a club to it's demise. Best of luck to the lot of you wherever you wind up.
Well, this is a real bummer. I want to thank you and Alex for opening the door to us MM members and making us feel welcome. Suzy you always come across light hearted and positive and I think that is your main goal. So I hope this is a good move for you personally. It is however a sad one for us members. Thanks for all you've done and go enjoy Tigger. Kristina
Suzy, you and Alex will always be classed as friends and I'm not political and certainly not a sheep so that won't change! Do stay in touch, we all have each others mobile number. We're hoping to get Charlie sorted by Mid July at latest. Going to try and sort him myself and order upa spacer. Once done we should meet and go out for a drive perhaps. Once again a big thank you for all the work you have put into the club which has delighted myself and I'm sure many others! Speak to you soon, Ant
