I had an interesting conversation on the phone with a chap who is restoring a very unusual car. Its a road-going fork-lift Mini!
It is one of 7 similar 1970's experimental vehicles, designed and built in or near Longbridge. It has the cab of a Mini pickup, but the bed was removed and forks added between the rear subframe members.
Jeff has had this Mini for 8 years, and he believes it is the only one left out of the 7. He has started to strip it and wants to finish it in time for shows this summer. His concours trucks have won local prizes so sounds like he's going to do a good job. Its a T-reg, with what he thinks is a Cooper engine.
If anyone can help with more information or history about this Mini, please give Jeff a call 01594 516046 (Forest of Dean).
