Got mot done today and the pile of turd has failed on quite a bit...how much will it cost me roughly to get it back on the road? Heres whats written on the refusal certificate.... - Windscreen washer provides insufficient water liquid
- Offside headlamp aim too high and too far to right
- Nearside Rear parking brake recording little or no effort
- Offside rear parking brake recording little or no effort
- Brake cable has wires broken and is significantly weakened
- Rear exhaust has major leak of gases *
- Offside rear tyre tread depth below requirements
- Nearside front upper suspension arm has exessive play in ball joint
- Offside rear treailing arm has excessive play in pin/bush
- Parking break efficiency below requirements
* downpipe replaced on saturday....and can put an old steel on for the bollocked tyre i guess. - and i forgot the last point the blokey put...."ha-ha, im screwing you over..."
How much do people think its going to cost?

Um, sounds like you went to the wrong garage. You could apeal test result if you really think it's all wrong.
Did you grease up the front and rear suspention before the test? If not this might sort 8 & 9
New down pipe will not sort leak at rear of exhaust system. Is the rear box corroded or is it a leak at a joint?
You need a new hand brake cable and at minimum, adjust the rear brakes.
Windscreen washers may just need refilling/ cleaning, jets carefully poked through?
Adjusting headlight is quick and easy whilst it's at the garage being checked.
Sounds like lots af major problems but might not be too bad.
Regards,
Allen

- Windscreen washer provides insufficient water liquid
Clean the nozzles & pipes - free.
- Offside headlamp aim too high and too far to right
Remove the headlamp rims before the next test, and the tester will normally adjust them for you - £ free.
- Nearside Rear parking brake recording little or no effort
- Offside rear parking brake recording little or no effort
- Brake cable has wires broken and is significantly weakened
Sounds like you need a new rear section for the handbrake, and possibly a new brake cylinder or shoes - www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=37513&title=HANDBRAKE%20CABLE,REAR%20SECT... www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=35818&title=REAR%20WHEEL%20CYLINDER%20(LATE... www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=36501&title=BRAKE%20SHOES%20NARROW%20SET%20GE...
- Offside rear tyre tread depth below requirements
£ Depends on what size tyres you have.
- Nearside front upper suspension arm has exessive play in ball joint
Re-shim the balljoint if it is not worn out - £ free.
- Offside rear trailing arm has excessive play in pin/bush
You can try ramming it full of grease to fool the examiner, or do the proper thing and get the bush & pin replaced - £20
- Parking break efficiency below requirements
Probably adjustment, or new shoes - see above.
